Oz Media Tragic Knowledge of Olympic Athletes.

As an ex elite athlete of long ago, I am mortified to hear the comments of some of the Australian media about our athletes Olympic efforts.
Most of the media people have never in their lives run an 800m or for that matter even swum a few metres in any pool .
So where are they qualified to comment on the blood and guts of years of hard work that goes into even getting to state , then Australian , then Olympic or Commonwealth or World games selection.
I was mortified by Sky news when Keiren Gilbert ( A so called Political Commentator ) mentioned Sally Pearson saving us from Shame to the sports minister.
Hang on what Shame,there is no shame in making an Olympic team, getting a place or not getting a place.
These athletes have been selected as the best of the best and the word Shame or Embarrassment or any such derogative wordage is a pretty poor effort on behalf of our Australian media.
I would like a media group to be challenged to train for the next four years daily with some of our athletes who are hoping to make the Rio games in 2016 .
Then open there critical mouths , breathe the air and work with an athlete of any kind who has to committed their lives in the hope , to even try for a selection.
Dear Oz media , then be critical and then you may have some understanding of the hard slog , the heartbreak, the physical pain etc it takes to even make a selection let alone be able to give you some rewards.
Then you may be considered a relevant and clued up commentator on sport and then you may have some credibility in the eyes of the public to make a comment on the efforts of the athletes.
Until such time do not make a comment of any sort on our fabulous and wonderful athletes who are giving their all.
Well done to all who made our Olympic Team and for all the athletes who tried to make the Olympic Team.
They are all Australian Heroes!!!
